Viewing my documents

If you receive an email with the subject A new document has been uploaded or something similar, this means that your advisor is sending you documents to view and keep with your records.

If several people are part of your portal and they've also been given full access to your portal, then all of them will be able to view all the documents in the Documents tab. Some portal users may have been given restricted access (possibly for a short period) and will only be able to view selected documents.

How to view a document from an email

  1. Click Sign in to your portal in the email you received from your advisor.
    Your browser will open at the login page for your portal.

    A message at the bottom of the email lets you know what email address to use to access your collaborative portal. This address is the one your accountant has on file for you.

  2. Click the appropriate Sign in button to use either your existing MYOB account or your Google account.

    If you don't have an MYOB account, you can create one. Click Sign up and see How do I create an MYOB account? for more info.

  3. Enter your username and password, then press Enter.

  4. If you've been given access to more than one collaborative portal, select the appropriate portal from the list on the left. The selected portal will be highlighted so that you'll know which one you're working in.

  5. Click the Documents tab.
    A list of all the documents that your advisor has made available to you is displayed. Anyone who has full access to your portal will be able to view all of the listed documents.

  6. Filter your documents to find the one you're looking for.

  7. Select the name of your document to open and view it.

  8. You can also click the information icon (an i) to display the document details in a separate panel to the right of the document list.



View a document from within your portal

  1. Go to your portal.

    You may have already bookmarked the URL, which will be something like https://practicename.portal.accountants/, where practicename is your advisor's business name.

  2. Click the Documents tab to display a list of all the documents that your advisor has made available.

  3. Filter your documents to find the one you're looking for.

  4. Select the name of your document to open and view it.

  5. You can also click the information icon (an i) to display the document details in a separate panel to the right of the document list.
